''Guitar as Second Language”

I've often described learning guitar as a cross between learning a language and playing a sport: it requires the development of new physical skills as you discover an entirely new way to express yourself.

I have learned that each student is on their own path and has their own destination in mind.  Where I excel at teaching is finding the best (quickest) way to get you to where you want to be, by choosing the most appropriate combination of exercises and songs.

While there are no ‘short cuts' when it comes to learning an instrument, it is possible to take the most direct path to achieve a student’s individual goals.

For example: if  you want to strum along around the campfire, we'd work on chord changes and won't spend a lot of time of learning scales!

If playing the blues is your thing, then we work on note patterns and phrases from the blues scale...

To attain your desired result, it is important to be as clear as possible about what you'd like to achieve with the guitar, so we can get you there by the quickest possible route!
